Are Manual Porsche 991.2 GT3 Prices Dropping?

We're obviously happy that you can still buy a Porsche 911 GT3 with a manual, but that hasn't translated into massive sales.

Fortunate Side Effect

Personally, we're more than a little pleased that Porsche still offers a manual transmission option in the GT3. But that doesn't mean a lot of people are opting for it, sadly. The byproduct of that lack of interest isn't all bad, however, as this recent Rennlist forum thread makes clear.

Price Reduction

Forum member Red9114me was doing a little surfing recently when he made the startling discovery. "I wish I was ready to pull the trigger! The market has dropped SIGNIFICANTLY. I’m seeing PTS manuals, delivery miles, with PCCB, deviated stitch and FAL are in mid $170ks (30k lower than months ago)."

Seeking a Cause

He also wonders aloud what could be causing this little phenomenon. "Is the anticipated 992 GT3 making a huge impact on the secondary 991.2 GT3 market or what? Opinions? Comments?"

No Wings?

Some suggest that the overall performance car market is soft at the moment. But Porsche911GTS'16 has other thoughts. "Perhaps the winged GT3 market is softening, but from what I have seen on RL and elsewhere, the Tourings (PTS and non-PTS) are holding their value well (for now)."

Zero Profit

Then again, Jzips isn't really all that surprised. "Holy moly, I can’t believe a new sports car isn’t a sound investment! My investment advisor led me astray! I had intended to retire on my profits from my 991 GT3! This is a tremendous shock to me!"

Prime Opportunity

Regardless, this looks like a prime opportunity to get behind the wheel of one, as Maverick11 points out. "The cars are as good now as they were when people were paying $30k over. Supply changes, demand changes, prices change, they will change in the future."

Opposite Experience

Herby!, on the other hand, is having a hard time finding a deal on a manual GT3. Or just finding one, period. "My experience was that MT GT3s were EXTREMELY hard to find new. The used 2018s I found were typically all asking above their original 2018 MSRP (especially certified cars)."

Panic Time

As is the case with society today, AllAboutThatP is going to simply overreact to this news. "Panic. Definitely panic. I just went out and lit my GT3 RS on fire because I couldn't take it anymore."

Drive and Enjoy

Then again, maybe we should just enjoy the ride like Porsche911GTS'16. "The more my car depreciates, the more I appreciate my car because I am getting to enjoy it, one magnificent mile after the next."

Clearly, our members aren't sweating any sort of value drop. But we're curious to see what you've seen out there on the market. So head over here and tell us if you think the manual GT3 is a current or future bargain buy!
