Edit

Edit Automotive, a recent entrant in the Czech automotive scene, has unveiled the Edit g11, a Porsche 911 restomod inspired by the original design by Ferdinand Alexander "Butzi" Porsche. Unlike conventional restomods, Edit focuses on an analog experience, omitting infotainment screens while incorporating modern amenities like heated seats, traction control, and air conditioning.

997 Base

The g11's exterior features a distinct homage to the 930-gen 911, with reimagined taillights and carbon fiber front and rear fascias. The 997-generation was chosen for its hydraulic power steering, emphasizing a mechanical driving encounter, especially in the pre-facelift 997.1 variant.

Redesigned

Edit's process involves disassembling and rejuvenating widebody 997 models, including Carrera, Cabriolet 4, 4S, GTS, and 4 GTS. Engine enhancements offer a choice between rebuilt 3.6-liter or 3.8-liter naturally aspirated power plants, yielding a 30 horsepower increase. An upcoming turbocharged version promises even more power.

Options Galore

The upgrade extends to a custom exhaust system, adjustable Ohlins shock absorbers, and front brakes sourced from the 997-gen 911 GT3. Buyers can opt for carbon-ceramic brakes, a limited-slip differential, and GT3-style forged alloy wheels. Inside, a revamped steering wheel and upholstery refresh the cabin.

The Creator

Petr Novague, the creative force behind Edit Automotive, draws from his design accolades, including the Hoffman Novague R200 Non-Fiction. Novague's connection to the 997 generation Porsche 911 inspired him to reinvigorate it through the g11 project, involving over 5,000 hours of development. Each of the 99 customers collaborates with Novague, ensuring a personalized touch.

Price of Entry

The g11 experience starts at €170,000 (approximately $187,450), reflecting its exclusive nature. A serialized plaque accompanies each build, celebrating its unique character and the fusion of traditional craftsmanship with modern ingenuity.
