Special Occasion, Special Car

Porsche and Le Mans have shared quite the special relationship, as the manufacturer is the winningest in the latter's long and illustrious history. Thus, given the fact that 2023 marks 100 years since the first running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans race, it only makes sense that Porsche might want to celebrate that occasion with a special machine - and that's precisely what it has done with the new 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition.

Limited Edition

Destined to be sold only in the French market in limited quantities, the 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Cenentaire Edition features styling cues borrowed from two Le Mans-winning machines, the 356 SL and the 911 GT1. Has one might have guessed by the name, it's based on the GTS model, and as such, is powered by the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter flat-six making 473 horsepower, which can be mated to either the seven-speed manual or the eight-speed PDK automatic gearbox.

Unique Exterior Touches

Finished in Le Mans Silver Metallic, the Centenaire Edition 911 features a number 46 roundel on the doors, with wheels finished in Aurum with Le Mans Silver Metallic outer rings. Other nifty touches include decorative decals on the rear side windows that mimic the louvers present on the GT1, as well as a series of unique badges throughout.

Blue Accents

Inside the cabin, the 911 Centenaire Edition utilizes Graphite Blue leather and corduroy bucket seats that take inspiration from the 356 SL, along with blue accents for the steering wheel, stitching, and SportChrono clock, which are enhanced by a Canyon 12-o'clock marker.

Other Touches

However, that isn't the end of the many nods to motorsports present inside the cabin. There's also a nifty outline of the Circuit de la Sarthe on the center armrest, "24h" embroidered headrests, red seat belts, and unique doorsill trim.

Lacking Specifics

Throw in a Graphite Blue key pouch and car cover, and the 911 Carrera GTS Le Mans Centenaire Edition is certainly a unique offering, and perhaps a rather rare one as well. Porsche hasn't yet revealed things like production figures or pricing for this special edition model, but it figures to cost considerably more than its regular GTS brethren.
