15 years ago, Porsche and Electronic Arts (EA) signed a deal stating the German automaker could not be featured in any video game without EA’s approval. Why this deal was ever signed in the first place remains a mystery, but one thing is for sure – the contract has just expired. Pretty soon, one of the world’s most renowned car brands will make its way to gaming consoles all over the world. 

If you can’t wait for these new games to be released, here are 5 video games that already feature Porsche.

1. Real Racing 3

The freemium, mobile racing game is played on a tablet and features touch controls; needless to say, it’s not a true simulation of what it’s like to drive a Porsche. Regardless, the game itself features more than a dozen Porsches in it, including the Cayman GT4.

2. Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed

One of EA’s more popular racing titles, Need for Speed: Porsche Unleashed is pretty much the gaming company’s ode to its German partner. The game itself features Porsche models from the past 50 years, and decent enough graphics/controls to provide gamers an enjoyable-enough experience.

3. Forza Motorsport 4

Without getting into the back-and-forth details that went on between Turn 10/Microsoft and the folks at EA in order to come to an agreement about using Porsche in this particular game, Forza Motorsport 4 features 30 Porsches in an add-on pack that users can upload to the game itself. Porsche even made a note when the pack was announced, saying that the motorsport-centric nature of the Forza environment is a very good fit for its cars.

4. Forza Horizon 2

Another expansion pack for an existing game, those interested can add Porsches from all decades to the Forza Horizon 2-disc, including the 2015 Porsche Cayman GTS, 2003 Porsche Carrera GT, 1989 Porsche 944 Turbo, 1970 Porsche 914/6, and more.

5. Assetto Corsa

If this title is not available by the time you’re reading this slideshow, then it will be soon—Assetto Corsa came to an agreement with Porsche to get the coveted German automaker’s license after its contract expired with EA. The launch of the new game was targeted for Autumn 2016. It’s another impressive achievement for the young game, which only came out in late 2014, but has since emerged as one of the top driving games on PC.
