1. New Body Style

With the introduction of the 2009, most have bashed the Panamera for its looks, as it mostly resembles a long-beaked dolphin. The 2017 Panamera has been tweaked and reworked in an attempt to stray away from the previous model. Whether this year's looks better than the past is personal opinion, but a few things have gotten an upgrade: the wheelbase, windshield and side-window, roofline, LED headlights as well as taillights.

1a. The 2009 Vs 2017

The above image is a closer look at the differences (or similarities) between the 2009 and this year's new Panamera. While at first look it might be hard to distinguish the differences, the front and back windshields come in a little sleeker than the predecessor. This, in turn, makes the front and back less bulky, as well as less hatchback-y. Other differences appear in the taillights and headlights.

2. Engine Options

The coming of 2017's Panamera will also debut three new engines, but only two will be released in the U.S: the V6 (pictured above) and the V8. While the V8 was created by Porsche, the V6 was done by Audi. Similarities between the two will be direct injection and two turbochargers. The differences are, the V6 has a variable intake valve timing and the V8 has cylinder deactivation. Of course, these options will depend on the Panamera you choose, which is discussed more in the next slide. For more on the available engines and the horsepower, click here

3. Panamera 4S or Turbo

As mentioned before, the engine options will depend on the Panamera you choose. You have the option between the Panamera 4S with a V6 engine, and the Panamera Turbo, as well as the 4S diesel, equipped with the V8 engine. The 4S comes with a price tag of $100,950 while the Turbo ranges in the higher level of $147,950. Two things available for both options are the 8-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive.

4. The Executive Option

The Panamera Executive is available for the 4S and Turbo. The Executive will feature more legroom in the rear thanks to the longer wheelbase of 5.9 inches. Other features include a panoramic roof, heated front as well as rear seats, and an adaptive air suspension. Both the 4S and Turbo will come with rear steering and soft-close doors, but only the Turbo will come with four-zone climate control, LED headlights and ambient interior lighting.

5. Redesigned Interior

The 2017 Panamera's interior is now more digitized with the inclusion of touch-sensitive controls and toggle switches. Two digital displays will showcase the tachometer and the steering wheel has adopted a 918 Spyder appearance. This all gives a more futuristic look to the second gen Panamera, both the interior and the exterior. For more images of the interior and the exterior, click here
