1. Singer 911

Singer has been producing its idea of the perfect 911 since 2009, and their creations are widely considered to be among the nicest cars you can buy — period.  $500,000+ buys you a vintage, air cooled 911 that has seen every single nut and bolt redone.  The result is modern reliability and jewel-like looks, combined with a vintage driving experience that is simply unmatched by anything today.

2. Magnus Walker's 911(s)

Magnus Walker is a name synonymous with Porsche, but his story began like many other fans of the brand.  Magnus fell in love with a 1977 930 at the London Motor Show as a young boy, and the rest is history.  Now the British-born Los Angeles resident builds 911's that feature custom touches you won't see anywhere else.  His collection grows by the day, just like his love affair with all things Porsche.

3. RUF Automobile

RUF has been in the automotive business for 75 years, and is most famous for taking body-in-white Porches and turning them into world-beating performance machines.  Because its parts are largely homemade and unique to their vehicles, Germany technically classifies them as a manufacturer.  Today, you can buy any number of highly modified RUF "Porsches" that are built to exact specifications.

4. Emory Motorsports 356

Rod Emory set out in 1996 to build the most iconic and personalized Porsche 356's on the planet, and it's safe to say that he has done exactly that.  The cars he builds are the best of the best, and each one is built the way the buyer wants it.  The Emory Special 356 is restyled to complement the original design, while the Outlaw 356 tends to feature more performance mods and even full on race gear in some cases.

5. RWB 911

RWB is a Japanese company that hand-builds Porsche's into unique and sometimes controversial creations. The design elements, as well as the tuning, are a combination of Japanese and European elements.  With big, flared fenders and wings, the look isn't for everybody.  RWB Porsche's have become iconic and desirable not just in Japan, but all over the world, thanks to that uniqueness.  And their builder, Akira Nakai, has become a bit of a cult icon in the process.
