Some cut the flange that holds the front brake joint. I decided to seperate the joint as I intended to mount it that way on the new struts. It will leak some brake fluid, so have some rags, and rejoin the joint quickly :) You can lock the brake pedal in a compressed position which reduces the fluid that will come out. You will need to bleed the brakes at the end.
