Default Ok age of new tires

What's ok as far as age of tires from discount tires?? Looking at Michelin PE2 for 87 911. Sales said tires sent would be no more than 3 years old.

What retailer sells newer tires say 6 month old???

I would not accept "new" tires that are 3 years old. Every time I've bought tires from Tirerack, I've never received tires more than about 6 months old at the oldest. Call Damon at Tirerack.

+1. Go to Tirerack. You'll be glad you did.

For what it's worth, I wouldn't do business with anyone offering 3 year aged tires and claiming/selling them as "new" (sound like something CarID would try to do).

Last re11's I got from tire rack were 2 years old...

They said they send out their oldest in stock tires first, and they are still considered new...

That can happen. You can specifically ask they not send any tires over 6 months old.

You can read up on tire age here and here. We do our best to sell as fresh as possible, but keep in mind with overseas production on many, transit and/or warehousing times and distribution to us it's not uncommon to have a year old tire (or more) by the time it gets to you. We are always able to give you a good idea on your tire's age if you ask us when ordering.
