Is this repairable?
I got a screw logged to the tire, close to the inside edge... is this NOT repairable, the shop I took it to, said it cannot be as it's too close to the edge. Thoughts?

Ok... my tires have now about 7/32-8/32 left... options are (a) Brand new tire replacement, (b) find a used one similar tread depth... I found one, but I am not sure if the shoulders are too worn out... what do u guys think?

I wouldn't run either. Porsche manual says repairs are never permissible.
I sucks but I'd get a new pair and make sure you get them some place that is reputable and that sells road hazard. I say reputable because if/when you put something through a tire and show them the Porsche manual says repairs are not permissible they have to stand up and provide a new tire.
Also, keep in mind that depending on your drivetrain replacing just one tire is not always acceptable. Friend with a newer 991 and PDK, car had 2,000 miles on it and had a tire issue. The dealer replaced only the bad tire and it caused the stability system to have issues. The car would just start freaking out and shuddering while driving and then it would clear up. When the issue finally elevated to Porsche engineers they had them measure the circumference of the tires. I don't recall how close they had to be but you can image that a tire with 2,000 miles wouldn't be too much smaller than a new tire.

Thanks, I've replaced a tire with another used one before with no issue, so glad I don't have nanny electronic 991 to nag about things like that.
I guess the question is, is it better for the replacement tire to be (a) New (10/32") , or (b) similar tread depth (7/32)? I know the best option is to replace both, but first off, they're expensive, secondly, they are totally back ordered for months so I can only find used in the market.

If you bought it from Tire Rack, it should have a road hazard warranty and they will replace the tire as Porsche does not recommend patching or plugging a tire even if it can be repaired. As long as it is less the 2years old (??) and more than 2/32 tread, you get a new tire
