Tires with rim protectors

You know the tires with the rubber flange protuding at the rim lip. Do they work to prevent curb rash? Any particular brand better than the other? TIA

They don't work worth a damn.

Both Bridgestone S-02 and Michelin Pilot Sport.

My Kuhmo 712's have this feature, not been on any curbs to test.

It is not designed for curbs but to help with installation. At least this is what I think I heard somewhere....

yeah I think the rubber would tear off if you curbed it, not really too much protection. Although I guess you need all the help you can get if you worry about curbing!:roflmao:

it is to protect the rim...has nothing to do with installation
