Default Max Rim Width?

I have a 97 Boxster Base. Staggered rim setup of 7" front, 8.5" Rear. Does anyone know the maximum width Rim I can put on both front and back. Do they have to be staggered? Or, can you 4 same size rims?

thx.

8.5" 53 ET front, 10" 40ET rear are about the biggest I would recommend. You can run that front size on all four corners with a 15mm pacer out back - but outside of a snow fitment I'm not sure why you would want to.
