Default Winter Wheels/tires

Waiting for my C4S cab and wanted to know if there is a decent inexpensive wheel to use for the winter. Tire suggestions and sizes would also be appreciated. Thanks.

I hear anecdotally that Blizzaks are short-lived, only a winter or two. Take a look at Tire Rack's web site - they have wheel tire combos and a useful chart of buyer's ratings of tires. The Dunlops seem to have the best winter traction/dry performance results. I am looking to a wheel/tire set for my BMW 540.

I went with the Dunlop Winter Sport M2 mounted on a set of 17" Porsche wheels (take-offs or used, I can't remember). I got the wheels from Wheel Enhancement, the used ones are pretty cheap. Tires are standard size for this wheel: 205/50-17 front 255/40-17 rear. Had a bit of snow and ice last winter and the car handled very well.
