Default 2004 996 TT Pilot SS Fitment

My fronts are gone (S-02) and I would like to move to Pilot Super Sports. Doesn't look like they make them in the stock fitment for 18"s anymore. Doesn't look like there are a lot of options for the stock size replacement (Sumitomo, S-02 and PS2s) from Tire Rack.

I wouldn't mind trying a wider front. Anyone try 235/45 -r18 and 295/35 - r18 in the PSS. The rev/mile is 797 rear and 790 front.

Any issues that anyone can see? Any experiences running the wider front on the stock rim?

I have 235/40-18 and 285/35-18 Michelin AS3s on my 2003 C4S as winter tires. Clearance in the front is fine. The diameter difference is 2.0%. I am told that up to 4% is ok. The car is 0.15” high in front, 0.45” high in rear but I can't see the difference. The AS3s are great tires.

I am hoping Michelin will come out with a 295/30-18 Super Sport before summer. I have trouble buying new PS2s for the rear since the SSs are rated better in every category and are cheaper. If SSs are not available in 295/30-18 I will have to decide whether to go with the sizes you suggest or stay with the AS3s for this year.
