18" Track wheel/tire selection for 997.2 NB
I have a 997.2 C2S and I'm hoping to get a set of 18" track wheels and tires for DE's and I want to stick to street tires for now but it seems like finding sizes in 18" is quite challenging. I was looking at 245/40/18 front sizes and 295/35/18 rears. I originally wanted 305's in the rear but no one makes a 305/35/18 size. I'm mainly interested in the "max performance" summer tires on tirerack such as the RE-11a, RS3, ZII, BFG Rivals, etc. If I go up to 19" sizes there's quite a bit more selection but I'd rather save some dough if I can stick to 18" rims and tires.
Also, what rim width and offsets are recommended? Is 18x8.5" ET53 front with 18x11" ET63 rear a good fit (O.Z. Alleggerita)? Should I just stick with 19" rims so that I have more choice with tire sizes (thinking 245/35/19 and 305/30/19)? The few posts I found on this topic were a few years old so they didn't reflect the current tire market.
Thanks!

Former Vendor
We have our RAD 10 Club Sport wheel available in 18" for the 997.2.
We normally build a 8.5X18, +45mm and a 12.0X18 rear +63mm.
Tires = 245/35-18 and 315/30-18
The 8.5X18, +45mm front and 11.0X18, +51mm rear I would suggest a 245/40-18 and 295/35-18.
I have factory direct pricing for this wheel fitment at $3,295.00 per set which includes a powder coated centers, polished outer rims. Your Tire Pressure sensors will swap over to the new wheels as well.

Scorcherjf, I just recently went through a similar process for my 992.2tt. I had heard that there was more tire selection at a better price for the 18s, so I picked a set of wheels and was about to order them. When asked what tires I want to put on for my initial setup, I said "Pilot Sport Cups" as this is what most of the guys at my DE events seemed to run so there was a lot of personal info available on them. I was then told that Michelin does not make them for the 245/325 f/r porsche wide body setup I wanted. But they did have them in 19s lol! So I went with 19s. In this situation there were more choices for the 19 in line with my driving ability. Maybe 19 is the new 18? I'm interested to see what people say to you.
