Default Fitment for 993 narrow body

Courtesy of the previous owner, I'm currently running 10x18 52ET on the rear of my 1996 C2, wearing 295/30-18.

I have a rear set of 11x18 59ET, wearing 315/30-18. They did not fit in the rear, being obstructed on the inboard side.

QUERY: Would the 11" wheel fit if I mounted either 295/30-18 or 285/35-18?
Would I need spacers?

My layman's guess is that yes, they should fit because I'm already running the 295 width tire fine. The caveat would be that the 11" wheel is 0.5" wider on each side, and then 0.28" more inboard because of the different offset. If I ran a 7mm spacer, that would resolve the offset difference. Correct?

Thanks.
