Post S03 on track

Any of you guys use the street tires on the track.

I was thinking of using my S03 at Watkin Glen, would 2 days really kill the tires.

Curious to know if 1 track day = 1000 miles street use. Or something.

I've run S03's maybe 2-3 days at Lime Rock, and beyond some scruffing at the outer edges of the tire you wouldn't know they've been on the track. The stick is nowhere near r-compound tires, however.

A good friend, tired of schlepping and changing track tires, put S-03s on his car just about two months ago. We did three days at Pocono over Memorial Day weekend and his left front tire was just about shot. The other three were okay. Part of his problem is that his tires were too new. The full tread squirms, chunks and builds up more heat faster. He did like the way they handled, although they are certainly not like track tires.

It depends on how hard you drive, how smooth you are. Remember, the best street tires are just that - street tires.
