Wheel refinishing help?
I have a set of gold centered BBS rims that I want to use for track wheels, but could use a repaint/clearcoat just to freshen them up some. I don't want to send them out to a wheel refishing vendor because I'm sure I could buy a new set of decent track wheels for close to the refinish cost.
Does anyone have any experience in what brand/type of paint I can use? I've painted wheels before that look good for the road, but on the track, the hot brake dust destroys the finish. I just want to paint the centers and will polish the outer edges.
I've thought of powdercoating, but then I've heard that's not a good idea, as it hides cracks.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Regards,
Jim

Last time I refinished a set of Fuchs, I used Wurth Lacquer wheel paint. Wurth has a gold gloss wheel paint that might work for you. You can read a short description here http://www.carcareonline.com/wurth_goldgloss_11321.html
