Refinishing Fuchs on 85.5
The wheels on my 85.5 944 are looking pretty grim and in need of major work. they are 15" Fuchs, black painted spokes with bare rims. I was wondering, what was the factory finish on the exposed aluminum, and what brand/color paint is the best choice for the spokes? I would like to be able to polish the rims to a nice shine, but if they are too far gone, is it feasable to finish them in a silver along the lines of phone dials? Thanks.

I cleaned up my fuchs by sanding them lightly with 800 grit paper, taping off the wheel and spraying each one with Crylon semi flat black paint. The finish still looks as good as new after five years...
