Post 19" wheel

Has anyone used 19" wheel at the track? If so, can you please shed some light on the pros/cons of it?

Thanks in advance.

Dear Ron,
19 inch wheels on what type of Porsche. Installing bigger diameters wheels for the track. What kind of competition. The bigger the wheel the slower the acceleration. The bigger the wheel, the heavier the wheel the less effective your brakes will be (unsprung mass is increased). 19 inch wheels are expensive and so are the tyres. Tyre choice is also limited.
I could see absolutely no advantage on the race track to using 19 inch wheels to be quite honest. However because you do not tell us much about your plans and your Porsche.
Ciao,
Adrian

I was going to use it for street/show only. I'll use my 18" for track but occasionally (when I'm lazy) I may use 19" for track. I just want to hear from everyone in terms of pros/cons of it. I figured accelaration would be slower and weight would be more unless a high-end wheels.

Thanks.

Dear Ron,
I cannot help you with answers on a 1998 993 Cab. The 19 inch wheels fit these I believe. I can see no pros to replacing your 18s with 19s for road, street or track work.
Most people who ask these questions on these forums are talking earlier models of Porsche,

Hey Ron,

Give us some pics of your car! Must look sweet if you take it to shows. Us southern California folks you know, we've taken "looking good" up to an art form!
