Thin Spacers
I made a set of thin (.125in) spacers for a friend who put a set of Boxster wheels on his 951. The shims are laser cut from .125 hot rolled steel. Anybody else need a set?

Do these have a centering ring cut into them? How about the engagement with the lugnut, is it fully threaded? I'd be interested but depends on the cost. What are you charging for them?
TIA |
The shims I made are not like the ones you see for outrageous prices in the catalogs. Because they are .125, there is no need to have extra lugs threaded and machined into them. The center is cut out for the axle hub and the whole part fits onto the lugs between the hub and the wheel. Because it's only .125 thick, you don't loose much of the lug. On the thicker shims (.25+), you have to have either a separate lug machined into it or use extended lugs.

I need a set of .125" spacers but for a 1988 Carrera bolt pattern, can those be made, if so email me...

Yes, I might be very interested in them. i have a Turbo S, and would like to get the rims out just a tiny bit further (for looks more than anything), but most of the spacers out there are too large, cost too much, and are too much hassle, etc... I've found some 1/4" ones (7mm) that were about $50 a pair, so I could do my whole car for about $100 this way, but I'm not 100% sure I could get by w/using the factory lugs on them(?). Anyway, .125" sounds like it might work great... E-mail me please to let me know :)
Are they lightweight? How soon could we do this, and how would we do the transaction? Thanks, Robby |
Got pix?

Sure, I'll make some this week.

Here's a picture of what they look like. I painted this one so that it would contrast ok.
