Post Heat cycling

Am I correct in assuming that heat cycling is really only for track tires (as in DE, not autoX) and not appropriate or needed for street?

I've only seen heat cycling recommended for soft R compound and racing tires. Interestingly Michelin says that heat cycling has minimal impact on it's Cup tire life, though. Other R compound tires definitely benefit from heat cycling. Given street tires and their compounds are quite different, I don't know why you'd want to heat cycle street tires.

I know many people that will have their tires heat cycled by Tire Rack before they use them for Autocrossing. I personally do not do it.

As for the street, I do not see it as necessary.
