Post 7x15 wheels on early 911?

also posting this on the 911 board so sorry if you see more than one post.

ok.. ive got my eye on a set of 7J x 15 H2 ET23, 5 lug, Bolt pattern 5 over 130mm with 23mm offset BBS (old school basket weave style) wheels for my 68 912.

are 7's too wide? has any one tried these (or any 7X15 wheel) on an early (1st generation) 911 succesfully? (i think its posable on the lwb.. anyone know about swb?)

if so, what did you do to get em to fit right?
also what tire size, model year/how are fenders done, (and if you didnt use bbs wheels what brand model/specifications etc were they? IS ROLLING OR CUTTING FENDERS NECESSARY??
would there be a way to get them to fit with out problems, with out resorting to rolling or cutting fenders? i have original fenders on my 68, dont really wanna cut, roll, or flare.

also would 205/50/15 be the correct tire size for those wheels on a 68 912 (or 911)?

sugestions, tips, etc are greatly appreciated.
thanx in advance guys

I put a pair of 7X15 porsche cookie cutters on my 66 912. Filled the fenders out nicely. Don't have this car anymore so I can't check the tire sizes. They bolted right on!

I loved my 912...handled like a dream, tight..and very easy to work on. Enjoy it!

did you have to do any rolling? use spacers?

trying to get the most out of her, and a lil bit of outlawness with out doing any irreversable mods.. ie can be put back to orig in a day. shes in too good of condition to go completly nuts on, but not quite concours. i love her too much to do anything too drastic on. youre right tho, they do handle great! (but my 14 inch pretty polished chromed fuchs dont have the handling ability i want.. too much tire roll.. but they look so damn good!.. more show than go i guess).

you may want to go find a fellow 944 buddy and just do a driveway swap (since mine came off a 944)to see...most economical way to check before buying!...check local PCA members
