Anyone hear of Simmons wheels?
Due to a recent "incident" in my 1996 TT (no, not my fault), I have three damaged hollow-spoke wheels. I'm thinking that the ins co will authorize their replacement, which will give me roughly $3400 to spend on some aftermarket wheels. I've been looking at the Kinesis K28 with gold painted centers ($4100), but recently came across this:

The Simmons OM wheels with a reverse drop lip (8.5x18, 11x18) with gold centers for ~$2500. Anybody familiar with these wheels or this company? My main fear is five years downstream, I'll need a part, and they won't still be in business. Of course, I could just get a few spare parts now. Anybody?

Oh, its hell getting old, I tell ya. I did a search of the archives AFTER I posted this thread, and realized that I had posted this same question (and got some good responses; thank you)a couple of months ago. Any other comments (other than what an old fart I am) will be appreciated.

Steve,
Simmons wheels are made in Australia and have been around for twenty years. I think they will be around for some time yet. Most race wheels for Supercar, etc in Aus are Simmons. For the old stuff eg 13" wheels they even have a spin off company Retro Wheels phone 61-2-9570 3033 which will fix anything. I have their five spoke FR17 design and they are great. The website is www.simmonswheel.com.au
Good luck

The Simmons look great, but have a cast center. The iForged wheels also look great, have a forged center, but cost a bit more. Take a peek at www.iforged.com . They have a local showroom in Hollywood, CA (LA Tires). I'm starting to lean towards the Swift or the Seneka. Anybody ever see/try these?
