Are you sure they were real center locks?
I have 3 piece magnesium centered BBS wheels that can be mounted with lug nuts or by center locks. Since I'm not Bill Gates, I mounted them with the lugs and installed the center dummy locks to save a fortune. Just for show on my track wheels, but people ask how I did the conversion all the time.
