CCW Wheels

Anyone have any experience with CCW wheels? I am looking for wheels for my clubracer. If so, any good pictures of them, too? Thanks.

Pretty durable & cheap too.....

Thanks. Is that a silver anodized center? It is difficult to see, but looks good. I am going with the CCWs. Thanks.

where do you find CCW wheels such as those in the picture above?

Interesting links at the bottom of the page for a wheel manufacturer!

Here is a picture of my recent purchase of CCW wheels. They look great. This is the polished center with the upgraded bolts. Do a search on the 924/944/951/968 board for my other pictures within the last month.

Funny... I never noticed the links.

PS. The wheels look sweet on your 951!

My concern for the CCW wheels is that they rely on the bolts to center themselves whereas the Forgeline wheels do not. Is that correct?

A hub centric wheel like Fuchs, BBS, etc. is definately prefered over the lugs for centering. Makes a better balanced wheel on the car.

Just my .02

Jim,
I just posted this topic on the Racing board. Question, once the wheels are bolted down should the balance be affected?? I am getting a set of CCW's with the race car I am buying and was thinking of picking up another set. They seem well made...

A930Rocket 03-11-2004 10:24 PM

I would think so to an extent. The tire and wheels would be individually balanced, but when bolted on, they may not be centered on the hub.

There will be a small amount vibration if the lugs don't center it properly.

Balancing them while on the car would be better in this case, but it's not really feasible for a track car that has its wheels removed often.

If they were removed you would need to place them back on the same way the were removed or the balance would be off.

Someone chime in here if I'm wrong.

The CCW's on my 951 are hub centric. Mine are the 18" race wheels (no centercaps). Maybe the "street" wheels are not hub centric but race wheels are. I love them (especially since I picked them up used for less then half price)!
