Street vs track tires for track use. Suggestions.

Again, thanks for your suggestions, but looking at Dunlop's site they have no tires in 245/45-16, and this is what comes up when doing a search on the Nitto site:
If I shave the T1Rs will they generate less heat and last longer?

That was the main reason i switched over to 17 inch Fikses,well that and the 996TT brake upgrade i did to my car,but nevertheless there is a much better tire selection when you switch over to 17 inch wheels especially if you want to track your car occasionally !
Don't get me wrong,i loved the 16 inch T1R's when i had them on my car,i just never tried them on the track ...
