Default Winter question

I have a 2001 Boxster S. Will a square setup at 245 40 18 work OK on four 8 inch wheels? I am told everything is within tolerance but I would like a second opinion. Rubbing in front and 245s on 8 inch wheels are my concern.

A 245 is most likely going to rub unless the fender lips are rolled. You have to keep in mind too that with any winter tire there needs to be somewhere for the snow to go, too. If you leave no more room up there, there's likely to be damage to the car from packed ice.
