Default Need Info on 17 Kinesis Supercups

Hey guys,

Just got the deal of a lifetime on a set of supercups from a guy locally on craigslist from his 993 with oem center caps.

The wheels need a little cleaning up but they are in overall pretty damn good shape, on the inside of one there is a hairpin "crack" (I wouldn't call it a crack, its just a deep scratch thats nearly unnoticable, he talked to a tire/wheel place and they said its not bad at all,)

So anyway I got them for cheaper then you could imagine,

I was wondering if these could fit on a 85.5 944 with a set of spacers?

Also any other information regarding these wheels, I do not know too much about them other then the fact that they go for quite a bit of money.

it actually is a crack, not a scratch. some of the early castings on those supercup centers were bad and proned to cracking. You can run that wheel, but I'd suggest running it on the front of the car if possible, and you need to monitor the crack. I'd mark the ends of the crack wtih a sharpie or a razor blade so you will be able to tell if it grows over time. Be careful.

I do have spare Supercup centers if you want to replace your cracked centers. I also sell replacement Kinesis wheel halves, center caps, etc etc.

I believe your 944 would need large spacers on the rear to fit late offset wheels.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

I'm getting them checked out for offset, i'll be running spacers for sure though -

An update if any of you were wondering how they turned out,

Had Costco check them out and check if they were running fine, all 4 were straight with no dents, and the hairpin crack will not effect performance at all, just needs to be monitored every once in a while to make sure it doesn't get worse for some reason

That crack looks pretty scary.
Keep the car under 50...

wow, looks nice for what you paid. Interesting hardware you've got there.. the wheels were definitely rebuilt with new hardware (not kinesis hardware). The crack will be fine, just keep your eye on it.

Appreciate the comment,

I did get a ridiculous deal on these,

What parts aren't Kinesis do you think?

The bolts holding the centers on are not original.

Contact Thatcher above for the correct bolts. He is a great guy and has the correct parts you need. You may as well take him up on the center section too, cause the day you need it, it won't be available.

Not sure if I want to switch out the bolts if I don't need to, I might have to buy a center off of him, depending on the cost.
