I've got an upcoming race that I’m looking to purchase a new set of wheels for. Based on my research it seems the best tires for the event might not be out yet. The Bridgestone S001 and the Continental Sport Contact 5 P both seem to be targeted for Q1 release, at least oversees. Does anyone know if either is likely to be available before mid April in the US?

The thinking is that the PS3 won't be wide enough, and these will be slightly quicker all around than either the RE050A N1 or PZero N2.

Any insight would be appreciated, as tires are likely to make all the difference but I need to lock the wheels in now.

Some background into on the tires mentioned. It seems these are going to be the next gen of max performance street tires.

The new Bridgestone S001, replacement for the RE050A. OE on the Ferrari 458, released Feb 1, at least overseas. Probably my first choice if it's available- the 315 would be very good.

It looks like they skipped the ContiSportContact 4 and went to the 5P- the 5 is due in 2011 as a CSC 3 replacement.

If anyone knows when these are showing in the US please chime in...
