Default Is it time to replace this tire?

Ran an autoX yesterday. This is my front passenger tire. The other tires are not missing chunks.

Is this tire still useable on the street or is it trash? What causes this to happen?

It appears trashed to me. Whenever a cyunk like that is gone, there's more damage on the way. I wouldn't trust it. How old are the tires?

What brand of tire is this? Make, model and size? Looks like Pirelli P Zero Rosso?

Yup, these are my summer shoes, see my sig. I don't know how old the fronts are, they were put on by the PO. At most they are 5 y.o.. The backs are less than a year. Just my luck, I just had all 4 tires rebalanced too. Money down the drain

On the bright side, I hate the P Zero Rossos, time for a new set of shoes.

It was definitely overheated that's for sure. I doubt it would pass a pre race inspection if there was one. You may get a few more heat cycles from them. Just keep a close eye on them and watch for delamination and certainly don't drive them on the street.
