Proverbial Question: What Track Tires to buy?
Can anyone help shortlist my options?
Requirements:
- lapping day suitable
- available in sizes for 951 16 rims (225/50/16, 245/45/16)
- prefer grooved or with tread suitable for wet and dry use
- price sensitive; would like something cheap if I can do it
- reasonable wear characteristics...
Typically running A or B group if that helps.
Seems like a fair number of options these days. Nitto, Hankook, Toyo, Kuhmo, etc. Wondering if there's a clear winner -or- ones to avoid....

I'm running Sumitomo HTR's on a 951. I've tried them in 16" and 17" - and they seem to do very well (especially considering their price - just about the cheapest thing around). I'm also running same size tires, front and rear - since the 944 cars are evenly weighted.

I've always liked the Toyos as a very good track tire that lasts and lasts.
I don't know about 951 sizes.
Cross post on Racing forum and you will get lots of info (and strongly held opinions!).
