I have a set of 968 rims (7" fronts 8" rears) and a set of Club Sport Rims (7.5" front and 9" rears). I think i have decided that I like the Club Sport rims for everyday use since the car is a 951 S. My question: is there any major benefit for using the 7.5"/9" combo on the track for DE or autocross as opposed to the 7"/8" combo?

Sorry you're not getting any help. You might do better posting on the 944 Turbo forum. I had 7 and 8" OEM wheels and went to 7.5 and 9s for track and autocross, but it was on a RS America ('93 911/964). I think the switch helped the RSA significantly, but can't say what it would do for the 951.
