Default Help Splitting Wheels ...

I have a set of Sport classic II's (which I think are made by BBS) that I want to remove the centers on and have refinished. The bolts look similar to torx head bolt, but have 12 points instead of the normal 6. Am I OK to use a torx bit if I can find one big enough or will this cause problems? If I need a special bit, where do I get it? Is there a Porsche or BBS part number? Lastly, what is the torque setting for when I reassemble them. I have also cross post this on the 993 forum too. Thanks.

P.S. I saw that someone else posted a similar question yesterday, but so far no replies. It sounds like his are Male headed bolts where mine are female anyways.

BBS uses a 8mm 12 point bolt. You might try a torx, but that is not metric. BBS bolts are tightened to about 142 in-lbs, but do a search to confirm.
