Newbie question... seeking assistance from experts...;-)
hi all,
need some advise from expert of Porsche...
i hv a 996 C2 year 2001,3.6ltrs.... car has its original 17" rims on...
thinking of changing to a 18" rim...
can a 8JX18 with 47mm offset for the front and 10Jx18 with 60mm offset for the rare fit the car?
was told for C2, the manufacture recommandation is 50mm offset for the front and 65mm offset for the rear..
suppose it would not be much of the difference if i were to change to the above setting...
and for such rim, which tyres size would best fit for the front and the rare pls?
many thanks in advance for your time.
best regards,
JH

For a narrow body 996, 18x8.0 with 50mm offset and 18x10.0 with 65mm offset are the original factory wheel sizes for 02-04 Carreras with 18" wheels. On those wheels, the OEM tires sizes were 225/40-18 front and 285/30-18 rear. 99'-01' used the same size rears, but with 7.5" wide fronts. The earlier cars used 225/40-18 front tires with 265/35-18 rear tires. Either the earlier or later fitting will work on your car.
There are a lot of options, just be cautious on the offsets. An 18x11 with a 50mm offset is made for a Turbo or C4S and sticks out on a narrow body. When looking at wheels, make sure they have a high offset for the rears.
