Question can these cracks be safely fixed? (sport classic II)

noticed a problem with a rear wheel today, it has 4 cracks in it

I'm in MA and there's a few places that do repairs locally, plus it's a 2 piece wheel so worst case I could get a new barrel for it I guess

#1 and #2 are almost perfectly opposite, while #3 and #4 are three inches apart and about 10 inches from #2

any help would be great, thanks,
Tom

First, it appears to be a 2-piece welded wheel (no bolted) which would mean it will cost almost as much as a new wheel to have a new out rim half welded on it. That's the bad. The good is that by looking at the pics, it can easily be fixed. I would recommend Wheel America.

The question is, why are they cracking like that? Did you hit something? Fatigue?

it's certainly not welded, it's bolted, it's this wheel here:

not sure about why it cracked, but I'm bringing it to a local place with a great repair reputation today to have a look at it

Will your car insurance pay to replace them?

why would you put an insurance claim in on an $800 wheel?

I wouldn't fix it...just replace the fatigued rim and be safe.

having gone through that hassle once before, I'll just buy a refurb from wheel enchancement

yes, the streets do suck, I'm sure they'll be worse after today since the temp went from 45 and raining to 10 in about 36 hours

Sorry about that. Low profile tires don't provide much wheel protection against sudden changes in the road surface. It can happen again. Be careful.
