'04 C4S wheels/tires on '99 996??
Hi
Per my earlier posting in the 996 Forum (New Guy Questions), the set of Kinesis/Yoko wheel/tire combo that I was hoping fit my '99 996 does not fit. It's probably more the issue of too wide a tire (245 fronts, 315 rears) rather than the rims (9" and 11").
I am looking at a set of '04 C4S wheels, fronts 8x18 et 50 / rears 11x18 et 45 with front tires 225/40/18 - rear tires 295/30/18. According to my "Owner's Manual," the stock size and offset for 18" on my '99 is 7.5x18 et 50 / 10x18 et 65. The fronts look OK, but note that the rear offset of the C4S wheel is 45mm while the stock one is 65 mm.
Will the rears fit?

Thanks. Looks to me that I'll be best off staying with a 7.5 x 18 front and 10 x 18 rear as originally supplied. The recommended tires are 225/40 fronts, 265/35 rears. Can I go any wider?

Being new to the Forum (and a "Contributing Member" although it isn't reflected yet), I certainly appreciate your comments and guidance. Since I am new to Porsche driving, I'll be staying with the stock sizes for the time being.
Thanks

"but note that the rear offset of the C4S wheel is 45mm while the stock one is 65 mm."
Along with the wider rim, the '04 11" wide rim's outside edge will be 1.4" further outward than the stock wheel. Do you have 1.4" of extra room on the outside between the tire and fender now?
