Switch from PS2 to RE 71R 18, size issue
My car is a 2009 Cayman S.
I currently run Michelin PS2 235/40 18 F and 265/40 18 R. I'd like to change to the Bridgestone Potenza RE 71R, the problem is they don't make it in the 265 size for the rear. They do make a 255/40 18, but that is 10mm less in the width. So should I go with the 255's or is there another tire size that works?
The PS2's have not been bad, but many people I've talked to say the RE 71R is a superior tire, and I'd like to give them a try, but the size issue has me confused.
I have a track weekend at the end of the month (May) and I want to have these tires on hand because my PS2's are nearing their end.
Any help would be great.

What is your use of the car? I run the RE71-R for summer / track use and wouldn't use it for a daily driver tire. Atrocious noise. If they don't have your size, pick a different tire.

https://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires...&affiliate=GZ3 This size would be a recommended fit for the rear given the vehicle, but if you wanted to stick with a 265 tire the 265/35R/18 would be 25.3" OD vs 26.0
