Default 991 wheels on a 997

I'm looking at an '05 997 that has 991 Carrera Classic wheels mounted on it. Car looks good, but the tires currently on the wheels seem off. In other words, there appears to be what I would consider a significant portion of the rim's edge sticking out from the tire. Generally it seems as though the tire's lip meets or even has a protective edge that hangs outside of the rim lip, but the opposite seems to be the case here. The rims are 20's, and the original wheel sizes are 245/35/20 in the front with 305/30/20 in the rear. The car is currently sitting on Pirelli Pzero Nero tires in sizes 245/30/20 in the front and 305/25/20 in the rear. I don't care for the "low profile" tire size and would prefer the OEM spec, but my question is this....would the narrow side wall cause the strange appearance in fitment? I didn't think to get good pictures in person at the time, so I've attached cropped photos from the ad that don't do the issue justice. I'll update probably tomorrow with better pix, just wanted to get some feedback. Thanks.

* apparently I can't upload the photos I have....I'll try to get the in person pix tomorrow.

Absolutely. Running non N spec tires can make a big difference also. N Spec tires of the same size can be as much as 1.25" wider than a non N spec tire. The 5% reduction in profile is also taking away sidewall from an already very skinny tire. The combination of the two factors are the reason that the tires look so small.

^^^ Thanks very much for that info! That kind of confirms what I was thinking. I have Michelin Sport 4s' on my current vehicle and would be looking to probably put the same on the Carrera, should everything work out for it. Thanks again for the help, I appreciate it.
