Default How can I be sure used rims are Porsche Factory Rims?

What are the distinguishing marks?

My wife and I have a 2016 Cayenne.

I'm asking because we have rims we kept from our 911 C4S.
I'd like to be able to show someone looking that they are factory rims.

Factory wheels are going to have a Porsche part number that starts with the model they were designed for; i.e. "996.xxx.... or 997.xxx...., etc."

Additionally, genuine Porsche parts (at least since the 60s or so) have this symbol somewhere:




If they are wondering about integrity; they can be visually inspected for cracks or bends. If they are looking for a fault-less wheel they need to have it tested.

Unless they've been subjected to continuous rough roads, continued track use, or simply decades of use and dynamic cycles, most Porsche wheels stand up pretty well. Porsche wheels are probably some of the better OEM wheels, they continually contract BBS, Speedline, Ronal, ATS, Fuchs, and other well-known wheel companies to manufacture their wheels.
