► APEX | SM-10 Track Wheels Installed on 3.9L GT3RS "ZKERMIT"
 

We just put the finishing touches on the first production run of our 18" SM-10 track wheels, which were created for the Porsche performance driving community. At APEX we have provided chassis specific solutions for BMW enthusiasts and racers for over 10 years now, and over the last 9 months we have worked closely with the Porsche community including many of you here on RL to develop Porsche wheels that embody the same principles; lightweight, strong and affordable.

The new APEX SM-10 wheel for Porsche combines a straight 10-spoke design with our “I-beam” milling technique to produce a lightweight wheel. Multiple face profiles (concavity) and a barrel constructed around popular massive Porsche brakes like the PCCB's pictured below continue to provide unmatched big brake clearance. The new milling feature implemented on the spokes known as spoke scalloping has increased strength while shedding weight, and it adds a visual feature typically only found on the most expensive race wheels available on the market today. There are a host of other features like knurled beading, OEM Porsche center cap compatibility and more.

After months of viewing and discussing on-car renderings, we are very excited to share the results of our first real on car photography session. The setting is Sonoma Raceway, an environment both the Porsche marque and APEX wheels are quite accustomed to, and the car is none other than our very own team members family owned GT3 RS, also known as "ZKERMIT" to many of you.

Many enthusiasts participated in our Group Buy, and we are really looking forward to getting wheels into everyone's hands (and more importantly on track) starting later this month. We will have some units left for inventory, and we are currently offering special pre-sale pricing through the end of the month.
