Wheel fitment help please!

Does anyone know if wheels that came off a 1989 944 will go onto my 1983 911 SC without using spacers?

Fronts: 215x45x17 Rears: 235x40x17 turbo style.

Thanks

I don't know much about 944 wheels, but I don't think 17" wheels were a factory option for the 944. As I recall, 944s came with 16" wheels, in 7 to 9" widths, at least for the Turbo. I don't remember the offsets, but they would be important for proper fit to a SC, as the 911s and 944s had different offsets, at least at one end. All of the 944 16" wheels were lightweight; even the cast "phone dials" were only 18.5 and 20# in 7X16 and 8X16 sizes. I mention this because most of the aftermarket wheels were significantly heavier. Although you didn't ask for an opinion, I want to provide one: for your car, I think the Fuch wheels are the best for the money. I would probably fit 7 and 8X16 to an SC, but they are also available in 8 and 9X16.

Late o/s 944 wheels will have too much (+) o/s. They can be made to fit by using spacers. A 1" spacer reduces (+) by 25.4mm

Thanks for the info all.
