Default Winter Tires and Wheels Boxster S 2004

New owner of Boxster S with summer 18" tires. My neighbor has a set of 17" Winter Wheels and Tires from his 2011 Boxster that are in great shape and a good price. Not sure that they are going to fit and clear.

4 Wheels (non Porsche Twist) with center caps 7.5J x 17 ET-52
Tires are Blizzak's 90% tread
Front: 235/45R17 97H
Rear: 235/50R17 96H

After checking the owners manual for my 2004 Boxster S it doesn't show these as an option and also concerned about tracking issues since the 4 wheels are all the same size....

Can anyone provide some insight into the fitment of these or what problems they might cause....
Really appreciate the input....

Love the car!

Ideally you want a tire on your car about 25" tall front and rear.

235/45 17 is 25.3" - Not bad, but quite a bit wider than our recommended 205 or 225 fitment. They would be tight presuming the wheels have the proper offsets. A skinnier snow tire will also work better to cut through snow and slush. So, 205 will do better than 235 will.

235/50 is 26.2" tall - That's a bit tall to be a good match to the front. You may get shoulder rubbing inside the fender well on a tire that size when cornering hard.

205/50 17 and 225/45 17 would be your best sizing.
