I've had my GT3 for about a month now, here in SF. Interested in meets, fun drives, track events, etc.

I ran into another Rennlister this morning with a Miami Blue GT3 as well. I think he said he just got it.

So this just happened on Friday .. traded my 991.2 GTS for a 991.2 GT3..

While I have your attention - where are you all going for hand car washes in the Bay Area? There are a bunch of old and/or dead threads out there on this. Not looking for detail but a regular wash place to get bugs, rubber, dirt cleaned off in a safe space.

I know haha! When you drove off I was like... damn that's such a nice car. And then I remembered I was standing right next to mine

RE: Hand wash places... Check out Carbonite Detailing. They offer hand washes in various stages. I do have a spigot at my apartment. But the water pressure sucks. My friend has one too out in the Sunset. And room to wash a car. I might try washing mine there once I get my water de-ionizer. I'm debating whether or not to get a pressure washer and foam cannon too. Might make it all easier.

I have one of those inexpensive foaming things and I don't really like it that much. a clean sponge (i seem to buy a new one every time i"m at WalMart) and the two bucket method seems to work much better for me. Also, I think a pressure washer might be too strong for any car wash, unless you can dial it back from 1700psi or whatever, down to like 20 or what ever a decent pressure from the garden faucet is. That's all I ever use and it's more than fine.

I'm in Dublin by the way. Don't have a car pic handy but it's a black on black 06 911S.

A foam cannon isn't the same as those cheap foam guns that work off a garden hose. Foam cannons attach to the pressure washer and cover your car in thick, shaving cream-like foam. And even though the pressure washer might be rated at like 1700psi, the nozzles are changeable so you can use something like a 40-degree nozzle and get less pressure that is safe for cars. And they use less water than just a garden hose.

Also here in SF. I use this with microfiber cloths and it works like a charm.

Congrats on the GT3

In regards to handwash, I just go to those self car wash places. You can bring your own rags and hand washing tools. I use the (air dryers) as I don't towel dry my cars just air dry them. I have to use these as I live in Condo and they don't have car wash access here in the peninsula.

Has anybody used these guys in SF for a regular wash? https://www.autobodydetailspecialist.com/. looks like they do maintenance, detailing, PPF etc. These guys are also open on a Saturday so that is handy. The folks at Carbonite never got back to me - will have to try again. Life is good when your biggest problem is finding the right detailer to baby your GT3.

Anybody heading to HoD at Thunderhill in September? I"m heading up for the Sat and Sun and FourT6and2 had his arm lightly twisted to come up for the Sat. Would be great to catch up with some other P-Car Bay Area folks if you're headed that way.
