Waay back in the day, cars didn't have to run to be judged. I was invited, drove my car down for the day and drove home and the crowd approved!. Today, hired help deliver car, wait at 5 AM at the 17 mile gate, set up on field for owner. Award tie breaker could be tire pressure. Venue for the famously rich and those willing to pay $$$$ just to get in to see the cars and bumping into those holding champagne glasses. Used to know all the judges but that's history.

I've never been, so I'd like to experience at least once. I'll try next year, this one snuck up on me.

Just curious if RL Bay Area has regular monthly morning meets like C&C in a smaller scale? Say every last Saturday or Sunday of the month alternating areas, East Bay, Peninsula, South Bay, etc? If there an active RL group doing this I would like to come check it out.

Not that I know of. Car guys here on the Coastside have a c&c first Sunday every month at the local Peet's, but that's all comers.

The parking lot at Dad's Luncheonette maybe a nice place of course with gourmet burgers.

That may not be a good site. They don't open until 11, and traffic coming this way weekends is a PITA. Could work for very early morning gathering site, then drive somewhere else for lunch. Frankly, the Peet's is a better location.
