SoCal tint shop recommendation - LA/OC
Hi All,
I recently picked up a 2015 CPO 991 C2S and am looking for any highly recommended shops to get my vehicle tinted. I am located in the 626 area, but am more than willing to drive to LA County/Orange County. On a related note, what is your preferred brand of tint? My last vehicle was tinted with Huper Optik ceramic tint a few years back and I was very happy with the results. I just cannot for the life of me remember where I got the tint job done; it was somewhere in Orange County not too far from South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa. |
Check out Moe at Glistening Perfection in Costa Mesa. His number is 949.355.4911. Have checked out his shop and work and he gets high marks in my opinion. Two other places that appear to have very good credentials based on feedback from members here and 6speedonling are Adonis Detail which is local to this area and Auto Armour in San Diego. All 3 appear to be quality installers.

Happy to help you out! We offer two lines of the film, CeraLuxe Quantum Ceramic and Spectra Photosync. They offer best on the market clarity, performance and heat rejection.
Here is a test of Photosync compared to Huper Optik: |
Had Ben at 2btint do the tint on my 930. Very happy with the result.

If you're willing to drive to San Diego, I recommend these guys: https://www.yelp.com/biz/sound-check...ms-san-diego-3

My friend owns Tint Plus in Laguna Hills (http://tintplus.com/), he did a great job on my Lexus and frequently does very high end and awesome cars. I was in there yesterday he had an Alfa Romeo 4c Coupe. They were doing the windows with the body film. He posts pictures of all the cars he does on his Instagram feed, and is also posting time lapse videos of installs if you want to get an idea of what they do.

Anyone tried Five Star Auto Glass tinting in Glendale?
They have all Five Star reviews in Yelp. Being quoted $750 for all windows (including front windshield) in 3M Crystalline... seems reasonable compared to the other quotes I got (~$950) |
Classic tint on Tustin . Lance has been doing it forever

Just wanted to quickly document the performance we have measured between our top tier film choice "Spectra Photosync" and that of Huper.
We use the EDTM Solar Spectrum Analyzer, which is the most advanced portable IR measuring device that also uses NFRC300 standards to confirm its true. Below are some pics. 1st photo is with SPH55 and the 2nd is with Huper 40. The numbers represent IRR(infrared radiation rejection) in both the near and far IR ranges. (Crystalline for example only publishes their IRR numbers to 1000nm, from 1000nm to 1700nm it drops off greatly. 1000nm-1700 accounts for most of the heat you feel) https://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...8165bc759.jpeg Here Photosync 55 shows an IRR (Infrared rejection) of 98-99% through 1700nm https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...b685c80bf.jpeg Huper 40 gets 81%-83% irr up to 1700nm |

That is correct on performance specs. Many window film manufacturers publish specifications that do not perform well throughout the solar spectrum. Additionally, many tint installers are not well-educated and just use the numbers provided by the manufacturer. Using a mater like the EDTM Spectrum Analyzer will show the true and most accurate performance of window films on the market. This is why we use Spectra PhotoSync and CeraLuxe Quantum Ceramic exclusively.
Here is a photo of a Pagani Huayra we completed with Spectra PhotoSync 75% on all the windows. |
