Cool deal - I'll start "testing" suitable locations and get back to everyone soon. If anyone has suggestions - lemme know.
Also, if someone happens to have a nice house by the beach and wants to donate it's use for a good cause I'm sure the board would be most appreciative!

I can't believe it - a board full of people who must make 6-8 figures and no one has stepped forward to say they have a membership @ Grand Havana Room????
I'm disappointed. Oh well, I guess we'll go for either Lido or the cheese shop.
Not that I don't want to take a longer drive, but while the cheese sounds cool, it doesnt sound like nice leather couches and big screens.

A little snag - Lido Cigar Room apparently went out of business!! Or at least the phone number that I had for them is disconnected and 411 or Yahoo Yellow Pages has no listing!
I am searching right now for another place.
Being that it's already Wed, I was thinking we could do it on Saturday the 27th. Would that work for people?
Do we want to make it a dinner & cigars or just after-dinner cigars, or even mid-afternoon cigars???
Ideas?

Saturday 27th sounds good for me. How about all taking a drive thru the twisty roads between the 405 to the 15 and to a temecula winery for dinner, a little wine and cigars in the late afternoon. I've drove thru there long ago and remembered it as being a good drive.
Some of those winerys have outdoor dining rooms that are cigar friendly. The scenery are good and should be close enough for SD people too. Just a thought.
Maybe that's a little longer meet for most people.

I actually frequent Temecula quite a bit - at least 1 or 2 times a month. I belong to the Wilson Creek Winery club and Ponte Family Winery club, and I've been to most, if, not all of the other wineries.
I think meeting at the 5 & Ortega Hwy would be a good spot, then take Ortega Hwy down to the 15. It is a fabulous twisty road very similar to Angeles Crest Hwy or the road up to Big Bear.
I know that Ponte has a members only tasting room (which I am a member of) and I can see if we can reserve that for a private tasting and perhaps a cigar setup. If our group is too big, they actually have a cool aging cellar that we can set tables and chairs up inside and have our own thing. Another great thing about Ponte is that they have a restaurant on-site.
Other wineries with restaurants - Thornton, Baily, Churon, and probably a couple others.
For those of you who have only been there once, or perhaps have never been there, Temecula also has at least 4-5 wineries "off the beaten path". Some of the back roads are very cool and there is hardly ever any traffic
So it sounds like people are keen on this Temecula/Winery/Cigars idea?
Let's start getting some yays or nays on this....
