Pac NW 996 Service
Any opinions about who should service (30,000 mile) my 2000 996 Cab? Bought the car from Barrier and had mixed feelings (long story). I'm in Tacoma so I like the service loaner idea and don't mind driving. Any opinions from the Porsche faithful as to Barrier's service department's reputation or an alternitive independent recommendation would be appreciated.

I'm in T-Town also. Larson Porsche SUCKS! Well, they give good service, you just pay a TON for it.
There is MAXRPM over in Bremerton, great shop, but in Bremerton.
Best bet is heading over to Seattle (Gerber), or Eastside (Redmond Euro) for maintaince, or DIY. I haven't found a good independent in the south end yet.
I don't like Barrier either.

I've had Chris's German recommended to me by a multiple Porsche owner. They are in Bellevue. 425-462-9296. Redmond Euro is 425-376-2655. Gerber is 206-32-6911.

I'd also highly recommend Cantrell Motorsport in Kirkland (yes, I understand they're a bit far from Tacoma). No loaners I don't believe but Colin is crew chief for a 5 car GT3 Cup team.

I don't blame you for not wanting to go back to Barrier, I have a couple of stories about them myself...
Gerber Motorsports in Seattle is a VERY competent shop, and you should see the cars the have in their "museum" behind the working shop area. here is their address and phone.
I actually got my copy of the Work Shop Manual from them, they are very willing to help someone who wants to do some of their own work, or do everything for you.
