Default Portland Oregon test drive

Hello I have never owned a Porsche but after doing alot of research I think I want to get a 997 Turbo. I am 6'6" and I have sat in a couple 2008's I want to drive one before I commit and was wondering if anyone would let me take one around the block. It was pretty snug so I want to see if its comfortable.

I have a 991, otherwise I'd let you test drive, but Grand Prix Motors downtown (no affiliation) actually has a 991T hopefully they would let you drive. Good luck!

Thank you, I found an 08 Turbo 997 at D and C motors here in Milwaukee. I havent asked if I can drive it yet, I think I am going to look for a C4S rather than a Turbo for now.

Ok, I'll keep my eyes open for you. Some other Portland auto brokers who may have the 997 C4S, or can find one;

Thank you very much, I'll check with them. I'm currently eying one in NC. If I can get my truck sold I'll have them ship it out.

Good deal! Make sure to have a Porsche specialty shop perform a PPI on it, and if it's an '06-08, even though it's more rare to fail, have them (as long as it's ok with the seller) remove the oil filter and cut it open to check for metal/plastic debris from a possible IMS bearing going out...then replace with a new OEM filter. (If you're not familiar with the IMS issue, have a look here; https://www.oregonpca.org/resources/...he-full-story/ )

The problem is they have zero maintenance history, and they just changed the oil right after they got it. According to the Carfax they bought it at auction, but it also shows that the clutch was changed along with some other stuff a few thousand miles ago before they auctioned it. So I'm not sure the history but id be willing to take a chance because of the options and configuration is perfect. So as long as everything else checks out I'm interested.

Eeek, I'd be careful with this one. Always nice to have some perspective on maintenance. Who knows if the oil was changed every 5k, 10k, 20k. And how many miles on it?(if really low mileage, the need for a clutch could give some perspective as to how it was abused or not)

It has 56k miles, and from what I've seen these cars get a clutch about there normally. Also according to the carfax it has records of the oil and filter and "recommend services" being done every 5-7k miles up until the clutch and auction.

Yep, not abnormal at that mileage, even when driven nicely most of the time.
Good to hear on LOF every 5-7k; we recommend every 5k.

Hey jeremy@matrix - I noticed you're in Portland. I am eyeing a Cayman S being sold at a place in Portland. Recommend any places in Portland to do a PPI? BTW - know anything about this dealership? Thanks in advance.
