Located in Knoxville, TN (has been kept in this area the entire time).
You will be hard-pressed to find an Air Cooled Classic Porsche that has been taken care of as well as this one. My father purchased this car new after paying off his loans for medical school. He always cherished this car because of the significance it had in his life so it was impeccably maintained. The car has never been wrecked and was always wiped down, stored and covered in a garage after each drive. He flawlessly maintained this car for the past 30 years. All paperwork and records show regular maintenance of the vehicle. He even saved all gas receipts with dates and mileage. We have had the same person maintain this car for 30 years. He specializes in Porsche cars and is well known in the Porsche community. He did a full mechanical review and write up on the car recently. Some of his notes include:
The interior, exterior, top, boot are all in excellent condition. There is no rust whatsoever and no leaks anywhere. The car still has original OEM tie rods and rubber brake hose and are still in excellent condition. Brake pads are good and have no sticking calipers. The car was driven carefully by one person and has 237k miles and has not needed an engine rebuild. All 6 cylinders are running uniformly at 12-14% and the belts are not stretched out. Spark plugs are all clean with no fouling. There is no blue smoke even on a cold start up. No oil or transmission leaks. Car battery is good, the alternator is working great and the car will also come with a trickle down charger. The leather seats and top are new. Air conditioner was converted to 134a. Owner is a non-smoker.

We are only selling because my father can no longer drive it due to health reasons. We are looking for the perfect owner to love on and take care of this treasure. No dealers or flippers please.

We have the original service book with all dates and mileage and stamps from company showing each service at 10-15k miles for oil change, emission controls, vehicle maintenance. The car has a great story really. http://www.projecthope.org/assets/do...-Wyckoff-4.pdf
This article has my fav pic of my dad in it- a young boy who was extremely ill in Uganda and without my dad’s intervention he would have died.
I really want to find someone who will love this car and really love the story of the car as well. It was later in life that my dad decided to be a doctor and he was declined to medical school 2 times before they finally accepted him the third time, which was the maximum amount of times you are allowed to apply (he’s a determined man). He went to medical school on loans while my mom as an inner city school teacher and they had 3 daughters, so clearly it wasn’t easy. He graduated from medical school and we moved to a smaller town in TN and he started his own practice. The practice grew quickly and was seen as the top medical practice in our area. In his spare time he would go into the less fortunate areas of the community and treat the kids who needed it and couldn’t afford insurance. Bc of his upbringing he always felt his calling was to help people who needed it the most, without money being involved. Once the insurance industry changed and most medical practices stopped accepting patients who couldn’t afford insurance, yet needed medical care he decided to retire early. He felt a strong calling to make a difference with his expertise. Thats when he started traveling the world for disaster recovery. He fully funded all of his travel and also paid for tons of extra medical supplies that he could use in these third world locations. For any holiday, instead of gifts he requested that we would donate money so he could purchase more supplies to travel with. When he travelled he was allowed to bring 2 suitcases. He opted to carry all of his necessities in a carry on bag and filled the suitcases with supplies for these locations he visited.
He barely slept, worked 23 hours per nt, staying in tents in these devastated areas yet this was when his soul felt the most alive. He would return exhausted yet rejuvenated at the same time, knowing he made a huge difference and saved lives while educating others on how to pay it forward. He always showed us pictures of the kids and families he met. He even left his cell phone in another country for one family who needed it. He doesn’t just treat people, he really KNOWS them and loves to find out about their heritage. There are no words to describe how special he is. You don’t meet many people like him.

He has won national awards for his volunteer work through Project Hope and Doctors Without Borders. I think the world of him.

Thank you! The car is still available. I can send the clean car report to anyone who is interested. Here are some pictures of me driving it at the Porsche Cars and Coffee a couple of weeks ago.
