]I have decided to sell my very original 964. I’m making room for another car, and this little beauty has to find a new home. It’s the first day of Spring, so ideal timing for the new owner to get the maximum amount of driving days in behind the wheel.

I have taken a lot of advice on pricing this car, but would still be open to reasonable offers from genuinely interested parties. As always, the market is hard to predict but I would rather this car find a new owner, than be sitting in my garage.

The Provenance
I bought the car locally from a fellow rennlister. He had owned the car for 10 years, and during that time had been treasurer (I think) of the local PCA. Extremely knowledgeable guy that is fastidious about his cars. I spent a long time looking and this car ticked all the boxes for me. The car has over 20 years of service records. I have not driven the car during the winter, it’s been stored in a climate controlled garage.

The Details
1992 Porsche Carrera 2
76,XXX miles fanatically maintained
Recent Porsche Dealer PPI shows car in excellent condition
Recent oil, filter, trans oil and brake flush
Five speed shifts very well
Leak down in mid 90’s for all cylinders
Engine out service, seals, clutch, RS mounts, flywheel 10k miles ago
Stored in climate controlled garage since 1992
All books and practically all paper work since new
Black on Black Original Porsche Cup 1 Wheels
Interior is in excellent condition
Limited Slip Diff was fitted when engine was out
Muffler bypass (Has recently passed strict CT and NY emissions)
JIC adjustable suspension, with about 9000 miles on (ride is firm but not to hard, handles very well)
New Battery and starter 2 years ago
Windshield replaced 2 years ago due to stone chip (recently confirmed this with previous owner)
Clear bra on front bumper, 1/2 hood, fenders, rockers, quarter panels and rear bumper
Never any accidents
Clean Car Fax
Clear Title in Hand

(after market Blaupunkt stereo. Yes, there is a tiny bumper cover missing, drives me nuts....I'll provide a new one for the new owner)

Thanks very much. It's a great 964, actually feels weird having it listed for sale! The space is needed unfortunately.

I wish you the best of luck, and know what you mean! People don't really get how few of the later 964's were made and how precious few are left in original condition.

I'm lucky enough to have a '93, great car and a lot different from the '91 I had previously. I love the look of the newer mirrors, wheels etc and lots of nicer bits although the '91 was great in its own right.

Someone is going to get a unique car!

I THINK i'm right in saying that there were something like 715 of these made for this year.......when you consider the whole run of these they were by no means 'low production'...not at all. However, there just are not that many that have not been modded, tracked or run into the ground. Dont get me wrong, I love that these cars were really driven, in fact the driving experience is why they were so well used. Either way, i'm seeing fewer and fewer come up in nice condition.

John if you have 75k invested in Michelins we need to talk. Although I've spent that much in one weekend!

Thanks for the response so far. I have had two great calls today about the car. Always good to talk to people knowledgable about these cars.

Two quick things
1 - I am totally open to negotiating the price with people that have genuine interest. That's no problem. (this is not a money making endeavor)
2 - I will be taking paint meter readings this weekend and will add them to the posting

Please feel free to shout with any questions at all. 917 421 0372

I have been made a very fair offer on the car, and in the spirit of that I will close this thread. Pending final payment. Thank you all for comments, calls and PM's. It's a little bitter sweet to be honest, but it's going to a great home.
